Millionaire Mindset

You are so close to success. The distance could be a short as six inches. You may be so very close to achieving everything of your fondest dreams. So close and yet so far away.

That magic six inches is your mindset. Yes, I am speaking about the diameter of your head. Your thoughts control your feelings. Your feelings control your words and your words control your actions. Could it really be that simple? Yes. Change your mindset and you change your results. Adopt a millionaire mindset and maintain that mindset; I guarantee you will continue to get closer and closer to your goal.

You ever think some people are just lucky? All the good things just seem to gravitate to them. Did it ever occur to you that they expect good things to happen and therefore good things do happen to them? Have you ever noticed that once the good events start flowing into someone’s life that more and more good events follow closely behind? It is really quite simple.

Look at your own life, when something good happens to you, how do you react? If you are like most people, you smile, feel happier and are more optimistic. The more you project a happy attitude, the more people are attracted to you. The more good happy people who are attracted to you, the more good events flow into your life extending and enhancing that positive attitude. A millionaire mindset means you expect good things in your life. The only difference between Donald Trump and the homeless person on the street are a couple of skills and a couple of good decisions. Start with the first decision of choosing a positive mindset.

It is like a Colorado snowball; I’m a Colorado lady so I am quite familiar with Colorado snow, the more you pack the snow on the ball and keep rolling, the bigger the snowball. Anyone who has ever made a snowman as a child knows the snowball principle. Your emotions work on the same principle. Henry Ford said, “Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you are right.” When you feel good you are more likely to think you can and thus you actually can do more.

If you adopt the Debbie or David Downer attitude and choose to be a grump expecting misfortune at every turn, that is exactly what you are likely to find. What is the magic difference? Your attitude. Your mindset is the only difference. Who controls your mind? You do.

Back to that magic six inches. Your mind is totally in your control. You have the freedom to choose a millionaire mindset and continually get closer to your goal or a defeated attitude and continue to go farther from your goal.

What do you have to lose by making a simple decision to expect good events to flow into your life? You choose a happy positive outlook or a grumpy defeated attitude. You control the majority of your future through your attitude.

I remember someone asking me once if I was wealthy. At that moment in my life I probably did not have $100 to my name. I answered “yes, I am wealthy in the love of my sons, my friends and my health. I adopted a mental millionaire mindset even though the bank account did not reflect 7 digits at that time. I speak from experience. That positive attitude gradually brought me closer and closer to my goal.

You control the magic six inches. Those six inches determine your future.

Characteristics of an Entrepreneur

FinalblueSkype 233x300 Characteristics of an EntrepreneurGranted, this is a challenging economic time for many of us. Men, women and even the smartest pets are budgeting, borrowing and looking for a rich connection. Ok, so maybe the pets are only looking for warm shelter, treats and pets, but the treats may be in shorter supply. Burying that rawhide bone may not be a bad move.

2 choices come to mind for most people – either make more money or spend less. With an abundance mindset, the preferred choice is to make more money. The time tested adage “You will always receive more of whatever you give you time, energy and focus” rings true today will ear piercing volume. Where are you focusing your thoughts, feelings and actions? Focus on “what is the best way for me to generate more income?” and you mind will start clicking, spinning and creating ways to generate income. Focus on “oh woe is me, there is never enough” and your energy will plummet. Your income will dive in rocket speed right down to the red ink. Red ink is an accounting term for negative cash flow; you spent more than you received. Another way of expressing that thought is credit card debt which you do not have the money to pay.

The problem is clear. The solution begins with positive creative thoughts. Over 70,000 individuals have decided to start a new business. Facts reveal that a business will require time, money and effort in order to be successful. Entrepreneurial thinking requires some careful analysis. Is having your own business the correct decision for you? Not everyone is mentally wired, disciplined, enough to succeed at their own business. The entrepreneurial mindset requires:
1. absolute clarity about your choice of business
2. absolute dedication to do whatever it takes until success is achieved
3. discipline to design a plan and stick to the plan consistently
4. an open mind to learn, grow and make wise decisions with time, money and talent
5. a SMART goal (specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and timely)

If you have chosen to make more money and then chosen to start a business as the means to achieve more income, analyze your mindset to confirm if you possess the entrepreneurial mindset characteristics. If you have a resounding yes to all of the above, let’s go forward.

Bonus entrepreneurial mindset thought. I have written an entire series of articles on this topic. Into every life, some emotional ice water will flow. Guaranteed. This negative, usually unsolicited, advice flows more freely than political rhetoric during an election campaign; actually it is about as welcome as the tirade of political ads. But I digress. This negative input which I term as “emotional ice water” flows from co-workers, friends and even our own relatives. Sometimes those to whom we are related pour the largest buckets of the emotional chill. They ridicule, criticize, and tell you they are doing it for your own good. Some may actually believe they are doing it for your own good but the result is just as devastating. Debbie and David Downer exist somewhere on each of our family trees.

If you are to become all that you can be, you MUST minimize the effect of the emotional ice water. Developing and maintaining an entrepreneurial mindset requires overcoming this potentially hazardous substance. Emotional ice water may flow in to you but it is up to you to develop such a red hot passion for your goal that your entrepreneurial mindset will overcome any effect. Your entrepreneurial thinking will determine a major portion of your success.

Remember that what you focus on expands. Focus on success, abundance and your own millionaire mindset. Ok, so you won’t become a millionaire overnight, but if you focus on the characteristics of an entrepreneur and really hone your entrepreneurial mindset, you can become anything you choose.

Success Plan

clutching at straws1 Success Plan“Man was created as a being who should constantly keep improving, who on reaching one goal sets a higher one” stated Ralph Ransom. With that in mind, I am currently attending a conference to improve my knowledge. Constant learning is an essential part of my success plan.

Jim Rohn, noted business philosopher, stated that “formal education will make you a living but self education will make you a fortune.” Whose words are you giving free rent in your head?

Explore different points of view. One of my father’s words of wisdom was to listen more than speak. His logic revolved around the theory that people seldom learn something new by listening to themselves. By the same token, you will be far more likely to receive a new point of view or new facts unless you spend time with different individuals. Only having conversations with a select few in your comfort zone rarely produces a variety of new information.

Before you go screaming from the room in protest that you must abandon all of your “comfort zone” buddies, take a deep breath. In the 1900’s and even through 1950’s most parents told their children to get a good education, get a good job, work hard and the company would take care of you. Advice which worked at that point in time no longer applies as the standard rule. The economy changes, people are more mobile and knowledge is expanding. The internet has brought more resources within easy and immediate access.

Knowledge is expanding at an astronomical rate. In a July 21, 2007 article by Newsfan in the UK, he believed that human knowledge doubled every 5 years. By 2010, Anthony J. D’Angelo sated “Never stop learning; knowledge doubles every fourteen months.” You choose to keep learning or risk being left behind.

Re-reading the same books may give a glimmer of new insight but rarely an “ah ha” moment. Success magazine book summaries or any of a variety of other services which review and condense books for rapid perusal increase our exposure to information as well as enhance time efficiency. When one of the summaries really connects with you, you can always purchase the complete book; read it in its entirety or keep it for future reference.

Attending live events provides another source of intellectual stimulation. In addition to the speakers on the platform, the networking opportunities with other like-minded attendees enhance mental stimulation. Seeking knowledge has been touted as a success plan since the beginning of time. The first was Eve and the apple. In her case it caused havoc for eternity. Other examples have produced much more socially favorable results. Scientists and inventors have experimented, tested ideas and advanced society. All of these marvelous improvements have advanced our standard of living. Celebrate the quest for knowledge.

In the pursuit of new knowledge, guard carefully the sources of that input. Interview successful people in a wide variety of industries. Reach for information from forward-thinking, progress minded individuals. Be aware of whose ideas you allow to have free rent in your head.

Keeping an open millionaire mindset will escalate your success plan. Keep reaching out for new sources and new information. Process it within your mind and implement as you see best for you. Always keep learning and growing,

Positive Mental Attitude

think positive Positive Mental Attitude

Think Positive, Act Positive

Events are perceived in a triangle pattern.

First person has their view of the facts; they have their perception of the truth. Person two has their version of the truth as they see it, which is different than the first person’s version. Outside observers have a third “truth” from their vantage point. The center of the triangle contains the actual truth.

As you observe these four different perceptions of truth, reflect on the incidents in your life. As you do your best to step out of your individual impression of the truth, seriously attempt to view the situation from the perspective of the other person. No, it does not mean you are making one of you right and the other wrong; you are simply attempting to understand their view.

If each person truly attempted to understand the way another viewed each situation, we would foster less hostility and controversy in the world. There is a powerful little book in my private library. “Getting to YES, Negotiating Agreement Without Giving In’ by Roger Fisher and William Ury presents answers to resolving situations before they become deadlocked.

Why do conflicts escalate to the point of irreparable deadlock? Could the answer be that we unintentionally, or perhaps intentionally, refuse to consider the viewpoint of others?

Think of yourself as dragging a sack weighing several hundred pounds around with you 24 hours per day. Your shoulders ache, your back hurts and your arms feel like they are being pulled apart at the joints. All of these aches and pains can relate to carrying the guilt, anger or tension contained in that sack. Why carry it when you can step back, attempt to change your view of the events and release that burden? Even though you are not physically carrying that sack, the net result is the same if you are mentally and emotionally carrying it.

“Life is change. Growth is optional. Choose wisely.”
-Karen Kaiser Clark

Who has the power to start the process of releasing the mental Atlas load? You do. Ok, you say nothing will change until the other party does the same. True, there will not be total harmony and resolution without both parties participation. Someone has to start the process. Even if they do not release the weight, if you do, then your shoulders and soul feel the breath of fragrant air and comforting sunshine. You see, you are not releasing the burden for their sake; you are releasing it for your own benefit.

Emotional ice water does flow into your life. Conflict does occur. Changes happen.

It is not a matter of “if” these things happen, it is a fact that they will happen. Cultivating a millionaire mindset means focusing your time, attention and energy where it will be most productive. Carrying grudges, tension and drama divert your focus from the positive things in your life. The best success plan is to focus on positives. One of those positives is creating harmony and understanding.

Simple steps to peace of mind.
1. Attempt to view the situation from the point of view of the other person
2. Look for resolutions rather than locking into your personal point of view.
3. In the grand scheme of life, how important is this one incident? Sometimes we lock in on something which truly is not that important to us.
4. Release the burden from your soul so you can concentrate of productive matters.
5. Forgive yourself and others.
6. Celebrate all of the positive things in your life. Be grateful for what you have. Time is precious. Relationships can be fragile but some, probably most, are to be treasured.

Handle life’s little dilemmas differently and your smile will glow a little more brightly and your relationships will amazingly glide a bit smoother. Successful people maintain a positive mental attitude. Their influence and workplace attitude are more congenial.

Who knows, your face may even show less wrinkles. Personally, I would consider that a marvelous side benefit of less stress. You will acquire more success through a positive mental attitude than you ever will by locking in on to your point of view.

Less emotional stress, less trauma and less frown lines – sounds like an emotional success plan. For more positive approaches to conflict and tips and techniques for a more profitable, productive and happy life, join me at www.Elaine4Success.com.

Someday Isle

Someday Isle Someday Isle

Someday Isle

Someday Isle

Picture calm waters, swaying palms and a gentle ocean breeze; you are resting on a peaceful island.  Sounds like paradise.  Dreaming of paradise seems like a wonderful way to spend your time.

What are you doing right now with your time?  If you are spending endless hours dreaming of Someday Isle, your life is quietly slipping away.

What else is on your “someday I’ll” list?  Have you examined your priorities and promised yourself that you will spend more time with your family?  Promises to spend more time with the kids, attend all of their school activities and even follow up on their homework assignments frequently slip off the priority list and drift off to “someday I’ll.”  After all, you have responsibilities.  You have your career, your household duties and your golf game.  You really plan to spend more time with the family; you just run out of hours.

Giving back of our time and talent to the community frequently drifts down the priority list to the bottom or even off the list completely.  We give it lip service and promise ourselves that next year we will do better.  Next year seldom arrives.  Next year’s community service is also on “Someday I’ll.”

Have you given lip service to improving your income, getting out of debt, or restoring your credit rating?  Maybe you are saying to yourself, “I just don’t have the time to research all of the options.”  “I know I need to research how to get out of debt and get my credit rating up but by the time I get home from work, I’m just too tired to deal with it.”  “If I go to a debt reduction firm, half of my money goes to them rather than paying down my debt.”

These are all valid thoughts.  Nothing changes until you take action.  If not now, when?  Just as dreaming your life away may be pleasurable, but unproductive, so is procrastinating about important details for your future.  Putting off handling your financial future will be damaging to your retirement years.  Once time is gone, it can not be retrieved.  Every day you put off taking action is one less day you have to recover.

Let’s put it in terms of your physical health.  If you know smoking, high blood pressure or excessive weight is shortening the life of someone you love, wouldn’t you try to help them?  Of course you would.  I don’t mean to nag but at least speak lovingly to them.   Tell them you want to enjoy their company for many more years.

If you can do this for someone you love, why not help yourself and your family when it comes to your finances.  There are low cost solutions.  Help is available.  Just like the loved one with health issues, nothing positive happens until someone takes action.

Living on Someday Isle does not solve problems, it only postpones decision day.

Wealth Builders Blueprint

blueprints1 Wealth Builders Blueprintthinking2 Wealth Builders BlueprintWant to make it easier on yourself to get out of bed in the morning?        How would it feel to be excited about your work?  Imagine being more excited about Monday morning than Saturday morning?

You will always be more productive, more profitable and more emotionally satisfied when you are working in your passion.  When you are passionate about what you do for a living, it is easier to get out of bed in the morning.  You are actually eager to get to the office.  Does that feel like traveling in a foreign land without a map to you?  If being happy about your career is totally foreign to you, then it is time to seriously examine your career choice.

Remember as a child how you had wild and wonderful dreams about how life could be when you grew up?  What happened to that childish wonder and excitement?  As a child did you imagine yourself as wealthy?

Examine your wealth builders blueprint.  Did you forget to even make one or is it covered with years of dust?  Unfortunately, it is probably not gold dust.  Time to dust it off and reinvigorate your dreams.  Your dreams are the first step in your wealth builders blueprint.

What is a dream anyway?

D – Decide what you truly want

R – Refine it down to a specific goal

E – Examine all of the factors involved in making it come true

A – Action plan to achieve

M – Maintain consistent, persistent, focused action

Deciding what you truly want can be accomplished by paying close attention to your energy.  When do you feel the most invigorated and inspired?  What are you doing when time just flies by without glancing at the clock every five minutes or having the overwhelming urge to jump up and get another cup of coffee?  When do you feel the greatest sense of satisfaction?  Where does your mind wander to in your daydreams?  All of these are clues as to your passion – your area of highest productivity, profitability and satisfaction.

Refining all of these thoughts, activities and “what if” ideas into the one most important goal is a process.  Be careful not to talk yourself out of your dream by saying it can’t happen.  Approach the process as if EVERYTHING is possible.  When you want something badly enough and really focus on it, there is usually a way to achieve it.  Napoleon Hill said, “What the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.”

Examine all of the factors involved.  Do you need more training?  Do you need to tap into a positive mastermind group who share your quest for achieving a dream?  Careful, no bar room benefactors, they tend to be negative; they are dream stealers.  Look at finances, education, and skills.  You will have to move.  Move your mind in a new direction; move your time priorities; move your seat off the couch and into action.

Form an action plan with step by step activities to move you constantly toward your goal.  It may not be fast but keep checking to be certain you are on course.  Revisit the plan frequently and be certain you have not veered off course.

Maintain consistent, persistent and focused action all headed toward the achievement of the goal.  This means daily.  Your dream becomes a 24-7-365 focus.  You dream about its accomplishment at night, take action on it during the day and daydream about how your life will feel when you are successful.

A wealth builders blueprint starts with a dream.  Live the life you desire and deserve.

Millionaire Mindset – Strategies

pix elaine11 Millionaire Mindset StrategiesLife isn’t perfect.  You always have a choice of attitude.  Choose to view the situation as a problem, a calamity and whine about how unfair life is to you.  Choose to view it as fate which is totally out of your control; be a helpless victim.  Or choose the viewpoint of a challenge, an opportunity for change, and a potential for improvement.

All 3 scenarios are exactly the same set of circumstances.  Your attitude represents the only variable.

Have you ever wanted something very badly, almost had it within your grasp and been disappointed?

If you had been with me in that tiny little farm town in June when I was seventeen, you would have felt the hot Kansas sun.  You would have smelled the sweet scent of fresh cut alfalfa hay.  You would have seen me run into our farm house so excited that I almost tripped over the rug at the front door.  “Dad, they gave me a full college scholarship.  I’m going to go to college.”  You would have seen the flush of heat and excitement on my face as I handed him the papers.  “Elaine, you’re a girl.  You don’t deserve a college education.”

I watched in shock and disappointment as he threw the papers on the floor and walked away.  Under my breath, “It would not have cost you anything.  Why wouldn’t you sign the papers?”

Decision time.  Whine, curl up in a ball and cry about being a victim, or seek a solution.  Attitude becomes the only variable.

Facts:  scholarship received, scholarship becomes invalid without a parent’s signature, scholarship is no longer an option for me to attend college.  I was so close to having my dream of a college education within my grasp only to have the hopes thrown on the floor.

When have you faced a situation in your life when you were so close, but denied at the last minute?

Solution based attitudes, determined individuals, and goal oriented thinkers find an answer.  An entrepreneurial mindset or a millionaire mindset will focus on the potential solution.

Ask any man and he will confirm the mindset of a determined female.  The circumstances remain exactly the same; the shift in the end result comes in the attitude.  Attitude will get you everywhere; choose positive or choose negative.  The entrepreneurial mindset, the millionaire mindset or the determined female mindset all revolve around a positive attitude.

After dialing numerous friends, acquaintances and friends of friends, a ride to college was located, confirmed and finalized.  No job, no money and no parental approval.  Remember that focused positive attitude?  Three years later, my college diploma was firmly grasped in those determined female fingers.  A positive attitude backed with action accomplishes amazing feats.

Even though he never told me, I heard that my father told others that he was proud of me.

Attitude will get you everywhere.  Determination, a positive attitude and action achieve goals.

Millionaire Mindset

Accurate , Timely Information = Forward Progress

Is your net worth sinking from the black into the red?  Is your wallet shrinking rightclutching at straws Millionaire Mindset along with your confidence while you eat out of tension and your waistline goes the other direction?  What you want is a tensionectomy?  I’ll let you in on a little secret.  Shhhh.  Having the right non-conflict of interest information at the right time and knowing what action to take plumps your wallet and strengthens your self confidence.

Wealth creation strategies require passion, perseverance and a commitment toward permanent improvement.  Get rich quick schemes are for the foolish, lazy and perhaps unethical.  Serious wealth creation strategies require a mindset change.  If your current mindset would create a path toward wealth, you would already be rich.

Millions of people invest hundreds of thousands in college, various schools and classes every year.  Americans, and now the world need solid, accurate financial information.  How much are you willing to invest in yourself to receive honest, non-conflict of interest education about how to earn more money and make better choices with the money you do have?

The alarm bells are ringing all over the world now.  The euro is screaming in terror as its debt level rises to flood stage and it is swimming in a sea of red ink.  The US Dollar has been drowning in its own red ink for months now and the massive bailouts are causing it to go down for the third time.  Pouring in more debt, red ink, to an already overflowing debt level only intensifies the problem.

Now since we are doing such a terrible job of managing our own economy, we have decided to expand this disastrous flood stage economic model to Europe, Portugal, China and any other poor soul who decides to listen.  Increasing debt far beyond what can ever be repaid makes no sense.

Hello, bankruptcy.  When your debts far exceed your current and future income, you are bankrupt.  Running the printing presses to flood the market with deflated dollars is like tying a big rock to your wallet and expecting it to float to the surface.  What are we doing to ourselves?  Even worse, what are we doing to future generations?

Wealth creation strategies require making wise decisions with current money and becoming wealth builders for the future.

  1. Stop buying things you can not afford with money you do not have to impress people who do not care.
  2. Start taking your financial education from people who want to educate you rather than sell you the latest and greatest “get rich quick” scheme.  Real wealth does not happen overnight.  It is a mindset of wise decisions at the right time backed by action.
  3. Stop jumping on every fad that floats through the media.  Pet rocks are long gone.

The US economy and the world economy are changing rapidly.  If you go with the flow of the masses, you will go down with the masses.  By the time information floats down through the spin artists from the top of Wall Street through the media and talking heads down to main street, it is far too late to act on it.  Come learn the facts.

Join me at http://www.elaine4success.com/ and get honest non-conflict of interest information.

Entrepreneurial Mindset – Mosquito In A Nudist Colony

There are so many opportunities on the internet today it resembles the choices of a mosquito in a nudist colony. So how do you choose? Being an entrepreneur is fabulous, especially in the ideal situation for you.

Do you look for the one who promises the most money? Some are promising such outrageous amounts that it looks like you are winning the lottery every week.

Do you look for the one who claims to be the easiest? Just purchase your starter kit, sit back and watch the money roll into you bank account. No effort required.

Do you look for the one that claims to have a miracle product? Ponce de Leon, Spanish explorer, reputedly sought a miracle fountain in Florida in 1513. Legend says that anyone who drank of this fountain would have their youth restored. Some products on the internet today expound similar magical claims.

Hate to destroy your delusion; however, the word “business” means some time, effort and money required. The advertisements may tap dance around the word “business” by terming it an “opportunity” but few actually say “get rich quick.” The gurus at Google would go into cardiac arrest and shut the site down quicker than a shopaholic dashing to a blow out sale at Nordstrom if someone really dared to publish “get rich quick.”

There are genuine, honest, ethical business opportunities advertised on the internet. The challenge is sorting through all of the empty oyster shells to find the pearl. The pearls really do exist but not every business is appropriate for every entrepreneur.

No entrepreneur will make significant money for the long term without adhering to a few basic rules.  Take it from an industry leader:

1. Is the business legal? Is it registered with state and national governmental agencies? Do not be confused with having it listed on the Better Business Bureau. BBB is an excellent organization which does research companies; however, BBB is a “for profit” organization NOT a government agency. Research the company with state and federal attorney generals and look for the number of complaints listed. No one will EVER have a perfect record if they have any length of time in business and have reached a sizable sales volume. No one will ever satisfy 100 per cent of the people 100 per cent of the time. Business deals with people and personalities. Do look for a minimum of complaints and look at the resolution of those issues.

2. Is the business ethical? Of course no one is dumb enough to feature the comments and testimonies of highly disgruntled people. Ask to speak to recent enrollees as well as longer term members of the company. Just the fact that they will furnish names and phone numbers shows the people featured are real live individuals. Ask to attend a live call.

3. Is the product something useful for the long term rather than a trendy “pet rock?” Look for something which transcends the fluctuations in the economy. In the go go 80s you could sell almost anything. In a more challenging economy, people seek more immediate value which can not be located at the corner drug store.

4. Select a company and a product which fits your interests. Select either something you already have some knowledge or desire to gain knowledge about. You will always be more successful working in your talent, interest or passion.

5. Select a compensation plan which fits your short term and long term budget for start up as well as meeting your income potential goals. Some compensation plans allow you to earn from your first sale and other compensation plans make you pass up sales before you earn any money. Anyone on a tight budget may run out of marketing dollars before they pass up enough sales to start earning income for themselves. Look at all the factors and make a wise decision.

Selecting the ideal business for you involves a variety of factors. For personalized assistance in selecting the perfect entrepreneurial opportunity to fit your passion, your budget and your goals, come talk to me. There is gold dust in the air. The gold dust is an attitude backed by action. The key is selecting the right business at the right time for your abilities and goals. Join me at www.Elaine4Success.com. Entreprenuerial Mindset – Second Thoughts Destroy Dreams

steamboat springs hotels 300x240 Entreprenuerial Mindset Second Thoughts Destroy Dreams

I remember that feeling of failure. Property owners, employees and tourists were looking up to me as the leader they trusted and I failed. My self esteem drained away. It seemed like a good decision at the time. Have you ever had second thoughts about a decision? Some decisions are reversible and some are not. Selling a business, end of the year tax losses and having a baby are not reversible. Come to think of it, there are painful similarities.
Why had I sold Mt. Castles? My attitude and my self confidence plummeted and my business disappeared quicker than a snowflake in hot coffee. I could blame the economy, the president or the dog catcher. The problem was my attitude and my action.  My lack of Entrepreneurial Mindset.

I had allowed my attitude and my business to come crashing down. When my attitude and self confidence plummeted, my business profits followed suit. I allowed second thoughts and doubt to destroy a great business.

Money does not disappear, it simply changes hands. The words of Paul Zane Pilzer, economic adviser to 2 presidents rang in my ear. “There will be more millionaires created between 2006 and 2016 than at any prior point in the history of the world.” With all of this prosperity, how could my attitude be down?

What was the secret to all of my success in the past?

Everyone I talked to told me I couldn’t do it. I’d go broke. It could not be done with single family homes. Property management only works with condominiums. I had 3 things going for me; I love a challenge, I was naive and it’s the go go 80′s. You didn’t have to be good to make money.

No second thoughts. Back it with action and go for it. There are advantages to being naïve. Jump off the business cliff and look for a golden parachute on the way down. I had a clear plan of action.

Sometimes plans are disrupted. Owners of the first home I managed were 2 young venture capitalists. Great young guys. Easy to work with, generous and creative. They owned a car rental agency based out of Boca Raton, FL. One day I received a call from Federal Marshall Jim Tafoya of the DEA. The cars carried more than people across state lines. The guys may now be having second thoughts. They had been concentrating on powder but theirs was not Steamboat’s legendary snowflakes. They were working with another white powder. Poof. The federal marshals became the new owners of the property.

Federal Marshalls do not have second thoughts about white powder.

Mt. Castles kept growing. Even after I won the “Innovator of the Year” award for being the first property management company in Routt County to market ski lodging on the internet, I allowed my significant other, Matt, I changed the name to protect the guilty, to tell me how small and insignificant a company I was. My self confidence evaporated and so did my profits. Poof. Just like the powder, everything came crashing down. Attitude is not the only thing, but it is the main thing. I defeated myself.

I could blame Matt, the economy or George Bush, but it was my own second thoughts. My own self doubt had destroyed my business and made the decision to sell Mt. Castles.

Paul Zane Pilzer’s words rang in my ear, “more millionaires created than at any prior point in the history of the world. . .” Clear my head; restore my confidence. Dust off my attitude and back it with action. If I allowed second thoughts to destroy my attitude, then I have the power to bring it back. Stick to your goals. Don’t allow second thoughts to destroy your dreams.

For specific tips and techniques to overcome your second thoughts and hold on to your dreams, contact me at www.Elaine4Success.com.
